Year 7 Chromebook Collection

Two female students are pictured sat together at a desk, beside a large window, working on Chromebook laptops.

Dear Parents/Carers,

The Halley Academy is committed to delivering a comprehensive digital strategy to all students with a loaned electronic device to support their academic progress this year. This programme is in partnership with Leigh Academies Trust and will enable your child to access a suite of high-quality homework learning resources that complement their classwork.

I am pleased to inform you that your child is now able to collect their device at a collection evening. To ensure we are able to deliver these devices to students safely and all relevant paperwork is completed, a parent or carer is required to collect the device with their child.

The devices provided to students are loan devices and come at no cost to you or the student, but must be returned at the end of their studies here at the Academy. With the availability of a loan device, your child will be fully able to access all homework learning resources.

Please see below the arrangements for your device collection:

Location: The Halley Academy
Date: Wednesday 6th September 2023
Time: 4:00pm to 5:30pm

Parents/Carers should enter the academy via the Main Gate on Corelli Road and are able to travel to the Academy by car, with parking available on site. The Academy recommends that families also bring a bag to carry their device.

On arrival, Parents/Carers and students will be directed to their registration/collection point before receiving their Loan Agreement form. This must be completed for the device to be given to your child.

The device is registered to your child and you will be provided with a charger. We will also be issuing supporting documents to ensure you are fully aware of how the device will be used in the Academy, and how students should safely use them.

If you have any questions, please contact the academy using the central email address admin@thehalleyacademy.org.uk.

Yours faithfully,

Ms I Ruthven
Deputy Head of Franklin School
