Sixth Form Football Academy team wins again

Yesterday our sixth form Football Academy team had an impressive 4-1 away win against a talented side coached by Fulham FC.

A muddy pitch and blustery wind made for difficult playing conditions but the team created some neat passing moves that led to two well-taken early goals, scored by Aaron and Mohamed, and a missed penalty. The opponents then pulled a goal back before Edmar made it 3-1 at half-time with a calm finish.

In the second half the defence came under more pressure and conceded a penalty, which was missed. Leon then completed the scoring with a powerful shot from outside the penalty box. Leon and Mohamed had good chances to increase the lead but their goalkeeper made good saves.

This victory was a good team performance against one of the strongest teams in the league. Abdi stepped in as goalkeeper and made some important saves, Leon led the attack well and Ramzi gave a battling performance in midfield. The victory showed the progress made since a 5-5 draw against the same opposition earlier in the season.
