LAT Sports Day Success!
The Halley Academy took part in the Leigh Academy Trust's annual Sports Day.
As an academy, we were placed 2ND overall (out of 9 schools) which is an incredible achievement for our first ever attempt at the competition. There were many individual successes in the competition including two exceptional achievements from two of our male students. Ezikiel gained a new PB in the 200m sprint of 24.6 seconds and Kola ran an exceptional 200m time of 23.6 seconds! Both students achieved new personal bests and deserve huge congratulations.
Our students were impeccably behaved, supportive and respectful throughout a very physically demanding day. The instinctive inclusive nature of our students was particularly obvious as the whole Halley team cheered on all students from every school as they competed in each event.
A special thank you to all the staff who supported the event.
As a PE team, we are very proud of each and every student and cannot wait to attend next year in an attempt to bring home the trophy!
