Our nine Halley Academy YTA's submitted an in depth portfolio of collaborative work to TfL back in June. Their work covered a range of criteria including – Commitment, Organisation & Planning, Communication, Being Accountable, Being Role Models, Using Our Skills to Benefit Others, Understanding our Community, Team Working, Presenting and finally, Reflection.

Their portfolio was moderated by SSAT, who awarded them with their official Bronze accreditation in Leadership skills.

Fiona Hedderman from TfL quoted ‘We are very proud of The Halley Academy YTA’s on achieving this award – in fact, they went above and beyond the required criteria needed – Well done”

The students involved are all very proud of their achievement and are committed to continuing their success within the Youth Travel Ambassadors programme. Here are some of their comments:

Hayden Gunn YR10 – ’’My YTA experiences have, and will help me in the future as I will continue to gain confidence and communication skills. By taking part in presenting and speaking at the, EXPO, pitches and assemblies I’m well on my way to the road of success!’’

Paris Smith YR11 – ‘’My YTA experience and leadership award will help me in the future by showing prospective further education institutes and employers that I have key skills and that I am both determined and committed to excelling as both an individual and as part of a team’’.

Congratulations to you all and keep up the amazing work – you really are making a difference!
